GENDER DIFFERENCES IN TRAFFIC RISK BEHAVIOR AMONG MOTORCYCLISTS IN INDONESIAN CITY

Several factors, such as humans, vehicles, roads, and the environment, can cause traffic accidents. However, studies have shown that crucial problem in accidents is human factor, particular motorcycle users, or motorcyclists. This study aimed to investigate risk behavior of motorcyclists’ considering gender a factor reduce The data was obtained through self-administered questionnaire completed by 155 motorcyclists Aceh Province, Indonesia, specifically Banda City neighboring areas. included information about characteristics respondents well their perceptions risks. collected were analyzed using Chi-Square test/Fisher’s Exact Test, Odds Ratio (OR). According findings, had no significant effect on motorcyclists' among eight variables considered (overtaking, speeding, use cell phone, turning without signal alert, tailgating, helmet, helmet strapping, protective cloth).
